This guide is only for people who signed up using Instagram prior to mid-2020.

If you have accessed your Milkshake account since that date please go to our general guide for troubleshooting log in issues, Why can't I log in?

What happened here?

Instagram no longer allows external apps (like Milkshake) to use your Instagram account as a sign in method 😢

If your account is connected to Instagram, then we will need to assist you in migrating your Milkshake site over to a new account that uses a supported sign in method.

You’ll only need to go through this account set-up process once per website.

What to do now:

  1. Create a new Milkshake account using one of the supported sign in methods (Google, Apple or Email). You'll need to complete the new account set up process, including setting a password and choosing a website URL.

  2. Send a request to our friendly support team asking for assistance in updating your sign in method. You can do this by sending an email to [email protected] or using the chat bubble at the bottom right of this page. Please include the website URL attached to your original account and the email address you used to sign up with for your new account. You can copy + paste this email template:

Hi Team Milkshake, I originally signed up with Instagram with the URL <include website URL> and need to migrate my Milkshake account over to a new email address: <include new email address> Thanks!

  3. We will re-home your content to your new account as soon as possible 🎉

Important things to note

  • If you have more existing Milkshake websites that were created through your Instagram account, you’ll need to go through the steps above to create a new Milkshake account for each website.

  • Each Milkshake account requires a unique email address.
