This is a new feature rolling out in our 1.16.0 release.
Free items require Milkshake Pro. Sell Cards are currently in Beta. We'd love to hear what you think as we keep building it out.
Want to give your audience something on the house? A free item is just a Sell Card listing with the price set to $0. Use one as a lead magnet, a thank-you for new subscribers, or a sample of something paid you'll release later.
This guide assumes you've already set up a Sell Card and connected Stripe. If you haven't, start with Setting up your Sell Card.
Open your Sell Card for editing. From your Home screen, tap your Sell Card, then choose Edit from the options.
Tap the + under Item listing. This opens the new item screen.
Fill in the item details. Give it an Item heading (the name of your freebie) and an Item description explaining what your audience is getting.
Set Pricing to "Free".
Type a button title. This is the label on the button your visitors tap to grab the freebie. Something like "Get my freebie" works better than the Buy now placeholder for a free item.
Add a deliverable. Under Deliverables, attach the file, URL, or text message your buyer receives after checking out. Free items still need at least one deliverable.
Preview, then publish. Tap Preview, then publish your Milkshake site so the new item goes live.
Free items still go through Milkshake's checkout so buyers can enter the email address the deliverable gets sent to. Free orders show up on the Sales screen alongside your paid ones.
